Born in Kyiv, Maria divides her time between Ukraine and Canada. She holds a MA in European, Russian and Eurasian Studies from Carleton University as well as a MA in Feminist and Gender Studies from the University of Ottawa. Her research interests include sites of social justice, grassroots activism and gendered participation and representation.
